The 2005-2006 Board of Directors Friends of the James Farm (FOTJF) Board
Friends of the James Farm (FOTJF) Board
The FOTJF Board exists to assist the entire organization & all of its members. We are interested in promoting research & an understanding of History of the 1800s in general, the Civil War & the part that it played in the lives of everyone who lived through those tough times. We also want you to know more about Jesse James, his family & associates, & perhaps understand why the man was who he was.
The FOTJF is here to assist you in your search for history, its meaning & the significance that this colorful period of history has had on so many to this day.
The Board of the FOTJF meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month.
Friends of the James Farm P.O. Box 404 Liberty, MO. 64069
Until 1978, the James farm was owned by the descendents of Frank and Jesse James. By then, the elements had just about claimed the farm. It was in ruins. Clay County purchased the home from Jesse's grandchildren and the restoration work was begun. By the next summer, visitors were once again going through the farm. Many visitors expressed an interest in how they could help with the restoration of the farm.
As a direct response to these requests, an organization called "The Friends of the James Farm" was formed and its board of directors would like to invite you to become a member. As a "Friend" your annual membership dues will help finance the continued restoration of the farm as well as help sponsor historical research to help future generations know more about the lives and times of the James family.
By becoming a member you will be part of the history of that very special place and you will be helping preserve it for future generations to enjoy.
